The Delaware Valley Small Business Recovery Campaign is a yearlong series of events to aid in the economic recovery of small businesses in the Delaware Valley. The campaign was developed by a coalition of area business leaders lead by Jock Sommese, president of Smart Business Publishing, Inc.
"As the publisher of the largest business publication in the Delaware Valley, we felt that a directed campaign for small business development was needed as the business community climbs back to financial stability in the region," states Sommese.
The campaign includes the Small Business Regional Advocacy Program, various training programs to assist business owners in sales development and a regional economic conference set for the fall.
"The Small Business Administration qualifies 98.7% of the regions businesses as small, but when people speak of economic recovery they usually do not include 'small businesses. We believe that the backbone of our economic recovery will be small businesses in the Delaware Valley who hire new employees, buy supplies and seek services. Therefore, it is up to organizations like ours to give them the ideas and exposure to other decision-makers they can profit from," says Sommese.
