Hutchison 3G awards elata wireless Java deal

London -- 13 June 2002 - elata, the UK-based innovative wireless mobile software specialist, has today announced an agreement with Hutchison 3G UK Ltd (Hutchison 3G).

London -- 13 June 2002 - elata, the UK-based innovative wireless mobile software specialist, has today announced an agreement with Hutchison 3G UK Ltd (Hutchison 3G). The contract will play an important part in the development of Hutchison 3Gs next generation services. The platform will be deployed first in the UK and then made available in other countries where Hutchison Whampoa has 3G licences.

The elata senses platform will enable Hutchison 3G to intelligently target, personalise and deliver wireless Java applications (J2ME) to customers.

Wireless Java is a critical step in the creation of new services for 3G. This agreement with Hutchison 3G positions elata as the market leader for Java delivery and download, as well as offering a migration path to support advanced levels of subscriber services management across the range of feature-rich devices." said Gavin Freed, CEO of elata.
