ZACH BROCK QUARTET
Jazz Violinist Zach Brock will appear in concert at Martyrs' located at 3855 N. Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL on Sunday, June 23 at 8PM. The concert is 21+ and Admission is $5. For more information, call (773) 404-9494 or go to www.zachbrock.com.
Zach Brock is joined by three exciting musicians from Texas, New York, and Japan. They are playing a series of Chicago concerts in support of their upcoming recording which will be available Fall 2002.
Matt Wigton, a double-bassist who graduated recently from North Texas, has been featured on several recordings including a trio project called Trinity and a new recording, Freedom & Jealousy", by Canadian trumpeter Paul Tynan.
Sam Bar-sheshet, an NYC-based pianist and organist originally from Chicago, is currently playing with jazz visionary Lonnie Plaxico as well as leading his own group.
Nori Tanaka left Japan to study jazz in Chicago in the late 90s. He is currently in a trio with Chicago greats Jeff Parker and Dennis Carrol and also plays in outstanding groups with Taku Akiyama and Ryan Cohan.
Zach Brock has appeared in performance with musicians such as Orbert Davis, Willie Pickens, Kurt Elling, Bobby Broom, William Russo, Rob Scheps, Johannes Weidenmueller, Django Bates, and Chris Potter. He has received a grant from the Smithsonian Institution and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and was selected to perform in the 2002 Betty Carters Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center.
