MDP announces name change, product releases

Chicago -- Market Data Professionals, Inc. announced today that it has officially changed its name to Xvertical Information Services, Inc. The firm also announced details of its new software releases.

The name change is a corporate identity adjustment, aimed at more closely aligning the companys offerings and mission, which have evolved over the last two years, and does not reflect any change in management or holdings.

Market Data Professionals was an appropriate name for the first four years of our existence. It mirrored our tailoring of products and services to end-user firms that utilize real-time financial market data", according to Leo Swiontek, founder. However this narrow distinction no longer reflects the focus of the organization we are today. Although we continue to serve a base of clients in the financial services community, the reality is that our role is somewhat less market data consultant and somewhat more developer, integrator and project manager for organizations needing assistance with the administrative and operational aspects of technology management."

Xvertical continues to develop tools based around its core expertise, recurring expense management, and has timed the announcement of the name change to coincide with todays immediate availability of Magnet 5.0, as well as the first iteration of its web-based integration platform, Dominion Interchange.

Magnet version 5.0 incorporates several enhancements to Magnets 4.5 release. Improvements include enhanced cloning and dependent services handling, as well as new account management and data population tools designed to trim time off of daily processing. Magnet 5.0 comes with an enhanced version of the MagnetMerge utility which now aggregates non-cost inventory data to complement the existing itemized cost data exports. Magnet 5.0 also provides support for FISD industry product codes. The upgrade to Magnet 5.0 is free to users of Magnet 4.5 and below.

Dominion Interchange is a next generation service combining a web-based front-end display with a data integration layer joining content from multiple data sources. Dominion utilizes a dependent pair of relational and native XML databases to intelligently and efficiently co-mingle data from an essentially unlimited number of off-the-shelf and proprietary/internal sources, including help desk tools, work flow tracking, employee/HR data, contract management, project management, asset tracking and recurring expense management. It utilizes, in part, the XML-based Technology Administration Markup Language-TAML (taml.org), which is sponsored by and was developed by Xvertical.

With the continued growing acceptance of XML for data interchange, we feel that the necessary momentum exists to provide advanced tools for organizations who are seeking consolidated views of data from disparate information systems", according to Swiontek. This allows functional areas within an organization to continue to utilize the best-fit tools to accomplish their operational tasks, yet allows management and staff to leverage their organizations investment in these existing systems. The benefit of this information sharing is that it results in an enhanced level of internal customer service, and provides aggregate systems decision support."

In conjunction with the identity change to a vertical neutral organization, Xvertical is offering rights to its market data domain names - market-data.com, marketdataservices.com and tradingrooms.com. Interested parties should contact sales@xvertical.com.
