SIEMENS AND SEABRIDGE INTRODUCE SERVICE-OPTIMIZED AGGREGATION FOR DSL NETWORKS
Multi-Service Broadband Concentrator Ensures the High Quality of IP Services
SUPERCOMM Atlanta, Ga., June 4 - Siemens Carrier Networks LLC and Seabridge Ltd. announced that the XpressPass multi-service broadband concentrator expanded aggregation features with the introduction of Service-optimized Aggregation (SOA) for DSL networks. The SOA feature is based on a unique patent-pending Multi-layer Aggregation (MLA) mechanism that enables dynamic bandwidth and end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) allocation per user session for optimized delivery of vertical IP services.
The XpressPass offers an intelligent IP service-aware aggregation by dynamically enforcing differentiated, end-to-end QoS levels in DSL access networks. MLA ensures service resilience for redundant service routers and performs dynamic, on demand Service Level Agreement (SLA) enforcement. It also dramatically simplifies and speeds the provisioning process, consequently eliminating bottlenecks by separating the users network provisioning from the service provisioning. The XpressPass allows effective ISP selection for wholesale environments and provides a future-ready migration path to multi-protocol label switching (MPLS).
MLA enables network operators to leverage their existing infrastructures to minimize capital expenditure and reduce operational costs, while implementing and delivering vertical services to generate new revenue streams," said Aharon Aharon, CEO of Seabridge Ltd. Today, ATM aggregation for DSL networks (performed by ATM switches) is static and cannot meet the growing need for service-on-demand. The XpressPass MLA transforms the existing ATM access network into an IP intelligent, service-optimized environment that provides the desired QoS treatment dynamically and on-demand."
