DELAYS FOR WORLD CUP RESULTS VIA WAP

Argogroup used a testing tool for WAP applications, SMS and EMS to monitor the response times of 4 Sport related WAP sites during the England v Sweden match on Sunday 2nd June.

Argogroup used Monitor Master, a testing and monitoring tool for WAP applications, SMS and EMS to monitor the response times of 4 Sport related WAP sites during the England v Sweden match on Sunday 2nd June. The sites were monitored every minute using the device profile for a Sony Ericsson T68.

In brief, the services all started to strain once the match entered extra time at 12:00 and didn't recover until after 13:00. By 13:15 everything was back at acceptable levels. The strain started to show in two ways.

1. Overall response time went up from less than 1 sec to more than 12 secs
2. Failure fetching a number of pages, equivalent to a 30 second time-out
