Turbo Squid Lands Dan Lion as Vice President of Sales and Marketing
(New Orleans, LA -- June 18, 2002) -- Turbo Squid, the worlds premier online digital marketplace, today announced the hiring of industry stalwart Dan Lion, who takes the position of Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Lion brings nearly two decades of sales and marketing experience to the table, boasting a track record of proven success at companies such as Cinesite, Autodesks Discreet and Eastman Kodaks Cineon Systems.
Dan has the exact skill set and range of experience we sought," notes Andy Wisdom, VP of Business Development for Turbo Squid. His understanding of our market and our business will prove invaluable as we move forward."
Lion will first focus on spreading the word about Turbo Squid, both by expanding coverage in existing markets and by reaching out to new design communities. He cites the companys remarkable reputation among its customers as the green light that the Turbo Squid offering itself is right on target -- the key now is to broaden the asset inventory and expand the customer base.
Our customer satisfaction ratings are amazing," says Lion. More than 99% say theyll use Turbo Squid again, with the same percentage saying theyll recommend our site to their colleagues. For any industry, those numbers are incredible."
Also high on Lions list: retaining Turbo Squids high customer ratings by keeping in touch with client commentary, making sure the site lives up to expectations. We must ensure that we have the right tools for our customers, and the only way to find that out is by spending time with them." Consequently, Lion will spend much of his time visiting with both existing and prospective clients and vendors in key markets around the world.
From 1999 through 2001, Lion served as Regional Sales Manager for Discreet, a world leader in software for visual effects and editing solutions. He was responsible for all sales activity in the U.S. Eastern Region, overseeing a staff that also managed local marketing activities. (www.discreet.com)
From 1998 to 1999, Lion was Managing Director for the New York office of Cinesite, a motion picture visual effects division of Eastman Kodak Company, Inc. Lion oversaw the genesis of the office, from construction of the facility itself to hiring and supervising all staff, to crafting and executing the business plan. (www.cinesite.com)
Lion also held positions at Eastman Kodak (1994-1998), Wexler Video (1991-1994), and Midwest Communications (1987-1991).
