The Sporting News publishes Klip information channel from Serence
The Sporting News Online, one of the largest sports information publishers with a reach of 2.4 million subscribers is publishing the latest sports news and articles directly to the desktops of their audience using Serence information channels. Serence information channels are already providing real benefits to real customers; working to open new revenue opportunities and help Content Providers lock in their current online user base.
2002/06/25 -- Ottawa, Canada: Serence, developers of a smarter information delivery system, today announced that its Klip software, currently the only commercial information channel technology available to online Content Providers, is now in use by The Sporting News.
Serence's Klips allow us to keep the SportingNews.com brand in front of our users, they open another gateway to quickly introduce new products to our readers, and they're a new marketing opportunity for our sponsors and advertisers," says Jason Stone, Marketing Manager of SportingNews.com.
Serence Klip information channels are being adopted by Content Providers such as The Sporting News, looking to open up new revenue stream opportunities and increase retention and repeat traffic to their sites. Readers of the Sporting News can now filter content and personalize Klips to their interests, making it a very sticky medium.
Allan Wille, President and CEO of Serence, commented, We are excited to have The Sporting News on board, and are committed to realizing a quick return on investment for them in terms of retaining their market share, and delivering new revenue opportunities."
AVAILABILITY
Klip information channels are published by Content Providers, and downloaded and subscribed to by end users. To view Klips, end users need a desktop application called KlipFolio. KlipFolio is available as a free download to end-users at http://www.serence.com.
