Western Riverside Council of Governments Spring Planning Meeting Profiled on
The Wright Place TV Show
Rancho Cucamonga, CA-June 21, 2002-Riverside County has seen significant growth. No region in the California and possibly the United States is undertaking as many far-reaching regional planning activities as are occurring in the western portion of Riverside County. A wide range of issues need to be addressed, such as; housing, transportation, jobs-housing balance partnerships with Orange and San Diego Counties and quality of life.
The Western Riverside Council of Governments in association with the California Policy Forum, San Diego Dialogue and the California Center for Regional Leadership hosted a ½ day workshop to address these issues. The Wright Place TV Show will broadcast portions of the workshop along with exclusive interviews with Dr. Edward Blakely, Mayor of Riverside Ron Loveridge, Randy Lewis of Lewis Homes and Ali Sahabi. Dr. Edward Blakely is the Dean of Milano Graduate School of Urban Policy in New York. He spoke on how to build communities that really work. Ali Sahabi is the builder of Dos Lagos master planned community in Corona. Other Speakers included Rick Cole the Azusa City Manager, Marcia McQuern, the editor and publisher of The Press Enterprise, Richard Sandoval of Hispanic Lifestyle and Supervisor Tom Mullen.
By creating an episode of The Wright Place around this event, the public gets a chance to see the highlights. We have edited out some of the technical aspects of the workshop." Says Dr. Letitia S. Wright, host of the show. 'But we have interviews where the main ideas were recapped. The Riverside county viewers will be very interested in what is going on." The Inland Empire continues to have the fastest growing economy in the state and perhaps even the entire country.
