LONDON -- 29 June 2002 - Voted by Shoppers, Sainsburys has claimed the No 1 position, followed by Tesco and ASDA. 600 shoppers were surveyed in an online consumer research . The areas covered vary from product quality and range to customer services.

Sainsburys emerged as the overall winner followed by Tesco and ASDA. Customers were satisfied with the overall services provided by Sainsburys, whereas ASDA struggled with checkout queues. Over 90% of Tesco and Sainsburys customers thought that the range and availability of products was excellent, however, ASDA led the way by a small margin when it came down to pricing.
