Cayman General Insurance Company signs agreement with PLEXIS Healthcare Systems to streamline and automate their rapidly growing health insurance operations.

Ltd. of the Cayman Islands has purchased and implemented its core claims processing software, PLEXIS Claims Manager. PLEXIS' suite of products offers payers, benefit administrators and health plans the functionality to facilitate accurate and automatic claims adjudication, referral authorizations, benefit administration, contract management, and the ability to fully integrate with accounting packages such as Great Plains Dynamics.

Cayman General Insurance has seen tremendous growth over the past year in the number of lives it insures. On June 27, 2001, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority conducted an on-site inspection of Cayman General Insurance for the purpose of determining whether the necessary procedures and systems were in place to ensure efficient and appropriate administration of the health insurance portfolio. Upon review, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority concluded that the PLEXIS software solution would significantly change and automate Cayman General's health insurance administration.

The inspection team found a well managed health insurance operation but one which had undergone a significant expansion of business during the last twelve months. The expansion inevitably created strains, in part because of Cayman General's existing computer system, which was a stand-alone enrollment, billings, and claims payment system that did not integrate with the collections and accounting systems; in addition it contained its own inherent inflexibilities.
