AT&T Broadband Offers More Channels And More Choice To Customers

AT&T Broadband will offer customers in the Dallas Market more channels and more choice through AT&T Digital Cable

Irving,TX (PRWEB) July 5, 2002 -- Today, AT&T Broadband will offer customers in the Dallas Market more channels and more choice through AT&T Digital Cable. In most communities, AT&T Broadband will offer digital cable customers three new digital cable networks and 11 new premium channels. The company will also introduce two new digital cable packages; Digital Starter and Digital Standard, to offer customers more choice in video offerings.

As of July 1, all AT&T Digital Cable customers in most communities will receive G4, a new cable network that is the source of entertainment, news and information about the interactive entertainment industry, and WISDOM Television, the only network integrating mind, body, spirit and earth content. AT&T Broadband will also add 11 new premium channel plexes to the lineup, offering customers additional programming options from their selected premium networks. New premium channels include HBO Comedy, HBO Zone, Action Max, Thriller Max, Showtime Next, Showtime Family, Showtime Women, Showtime Flix, Encore WAM!, Starz! Cinema and Starz! Family. Fox Sports Digital Atlantic, Fox Sports Digital Central, Fox Sports Digital Pacific and Nicktoons will also join the digital cable lineup at the end of July.

Weve done an extensive review of our digital cable offerings, talking to customers and our customer service representatives to find out what enhancements we should make to our offerings. The changes reflect our customers interest in additional, unique programming options and a wider selection of packages," said Paula Trustdorf, AT&T Broadband Senior Vice President of the Dallas market. We believe that with the introduction of these wonderful new networks and the addition of two new packages to our current offerings, cable customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex will be able to select the right digital package at the right value for them."

The new Digital Starter package offers customers the benefits of digital cable at an inexpensive price point of $42.99. Digital Starter includes all networks on standard cable, a digital set-top box and remote, the customer-favorite interactive program guide, impulse pay-per-view, 30 channels of digital music and Encore, Encore Action, Encore Love Stories, Encore Mystery, Encore True Stories, Encore Western and Encore WAM.Feedback from customer focus groups helped create Digital Standard, AT&T Broadbands new digital package that features a wide range of special interest digital programming, without the added expense of premium channels. The Digital Standard package features standard cable, a digital set-top box and remote, the interactive program guide, impulse pay-per-view, 30 channels of digital music, six channels of Encore, and more than 50 additional digital networks at $46.99. These networks include: BET on Jazz, Biography Channel, Bloomberg News, Discovery Civilization, Discovery Home & Living, Discovery Wings, Goodlife Television, Great American Country, History Channel International, Inspirational Life, International Channel, Lifetime Movie Network, MuchMusic, MTV Jam, MTV2, Newsworld International, Nicktoons, Nickelodeon Games & Sports, Outdoor Channel, Ovation, SpeedChannel, Sundance, techtv, The Health Network, Toon Disney, Trinity Broadcasting Network, Trio, VH1 Classic, VH1 Country, and VH1 Soul.
Customer feedback also led to the creation of two new digital tiers of programming, the Variety and Premier Pack that will replace genre tiers. Instead of being required to select a group of similar networks, the Variety Pack is included in certain digital packages. The Premier Pack is available on an a la carte basis and is included in certain digital packages.

In July, former genre-tier customers will shift to the new programming lineups. Customer service representatives will be available to answer any customer questions at 972-445-5555. Digital packages range from $42.99 through $77.99. New packages are not available in Farmersville, Greenville, Murphy, Parker, Princeton, Sachse, Southfork, St. Paul and Wylie
