SoundWorks Entertainment, Inc. acquires vast music and spoken word catalog
Seattle, Washington, July 2, 2002-SoundWorks Entertainment, Inc. (OTC:SWKE) has announced that it has acquired all of the assets of SoundWorks International, Inc. SoundWorks Entertainment, Inc. paid 11,521,000 of its newly restricted rule 144 common shares to SoundWorks International, Inc. to conclude the shares for assets" exchange agreement.
SoundWorks Entertainment, Inc. is an entertainment multi-media content provider, producing and marketing spoken word and music products on audio compact discs and cassette tapes as well as video for targeted markets. These products are marketed under the brand names SpeechWorks", Jerden" and The Nostalgia Company", respectively. Specializing in nostalgia, SoundWorks markets through television, the Internet, and through retail outlets including Tower Records, Borders, Barnes & Noble, Columbia House, The Smithsonian Shops, etc.
The company was founded in December 1992 by Mr. Jerry Dennon-a prolific recording industry executive and producer -- for the purposes of realizing the inherent value of his proprietary library of master recordings, which originally cost $20,000,000 to produce and contains copyrighted recordings of more than 200 name artists of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s.
