DARCY GOLDMAN HONORED BY WOMENS UNIOIN

DATELINE: CANTON AND BOSTON, MA, ISSUED JULY 8, 2002...
DArcy Goldman, President of Humboldt Storage and Moving, the largest United Van Lines agent in the Boston area, was recently honored by Womens Educational and Industrial Union (also referred to as The Womens Union) for her dedication to helping other women by using her position or resources for the benefit of women and families.

Ms. Goldmans photo was included in the The Womens Union in the Every Womans Voice: 125 Years of Womens Leadership Photo Exhibition" which was recently displayed at the Massachusetts State House.

Over the next several months, the exhibit is scheduled to travel throughout the state including Hyannis, Fall River, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, and Wellesley.

This photo exhibit and honor is an important public acknowledgement not only for the women who were highlighted, but as a message to girls, boys, men and women throughout the Commonwealth that women DO make significant contributions to our community, women CAN hold positions of power and use that influence to help others, and that women have NO boundaries for what they can accomplish," noted Ms. Goldman.

The exhibition honors women throughout the Commonwealth who have made significant contributions to the lives of other women and families in their own communities and beyond. It also includes one-of-a-kind photos from The Women's Union's early years.
More than 100 portraits represent women from varying backgrounds, age groups, geographic areas and professional disciplines. All photos were provided courtesy of Bachrach Photographers, well known as the photo portrait studio for numerous presidents.

About the Womens Union
Over 124 years ago, the WEIUs founders recognized the critical contribution education and work make to womens abilities to build rewarding lives for themselves and their families. This essential convergence of education, training and a productive work life is no different today than at our founding. Though the skills required to be successful may have changed, and the workplace has an increasingly diverse face, the essential challenge for women and their families remains. To help meet this challenge, the WEIU will expand upon its unbroken pursuit of economic and social justice for all women in Massachusetts.
