Chesapeake, Virginia, July 11, 2002 -- The IntelliSafe Vault now includes Chrysalis-ITS Luna 2, an integrated Federal Information Processing Standard Publication (FIPS) 140-1 Level 2 Hardware Security Module (HSM), a standard required by many U.S. federal agencies to protect commercial and sensitive data.
The patent-pending IntelliSafe Vault application provides companies and governments the ability to conduct transactions with high value documents with their business partners over the Internet. The IntelliSafe Vault enables them to create, sign and store legally binding, authoritative documents in a paperless environment. For critical documents and negotiable instruments, the Vault removes the physical barriers to closing deals and securing legally binding signatures. The Vault also eliminates costs associated with express mailing charges, storage, filing and retaining paper copies of originals, and speeds the transaction by eliminating delays caused by geographic barriers. The IntelliSafe Vault application is the simple and secure way to ensure the authenticity of digital content.
Version 1.1 of the IntelliSafe Vault is integrated with Chrysalis-ITS Luna 2 , a
FIPS 140-1 Level 2 validated HSM. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) awards the status once the hardware passes rigorous testing by a certified laboratory, validating cryptographic modules for conformance to the standard FIPS PUB 140-1, Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules.
"For data security, the FIPS standard is the industry benchmark," said Fred Thornton, CEO, at Operational Research Consultants, Inc. "The combination of Chrysalis-ITS Luna 2 FIPS validated HSM with the high degree of security built into the IntelliSafe Vault means that government agencies and enterprises now have a valuable, validated solution that provides a secure choice for signing, sending and storing documents online."
"Our only goal at IntelliSafe Technologies is to focus on providing the most secure and trusted environment for our customers. With an integrated FIPS validated module from Chrysalis-ITS, we can now expand our market to federal government agencies that require this high standard of security," said Peter Natale, Vice President of Corporate Products and head of IntelliSafe Technologies, a division of Compass Technology Management.
