Chicago, IL-July 12, 2002-Chicago will play host to a benefit screening of cult icon Elvira's new film, Elvira's Haunted Hills, on Sunday, July 28. Proceeds will benefit Sponsorkids.com which in turn will donate the money to The Children's Place Association, a non-profit organization servicing HIV/AIDS impacted children and their families. The screening of the gothic-horror comedy, which will include an appearance by Elvira (aka Cassandra Peterson), is sponsored by Sponsorskids.com.

The movie will screen at 7:00 p.m. at the Music Box Theater, 3733 N. Southport. In addition, a special movie premiere package is available which includes a pre-screening party at 5:00 p.m. at Circuit Nightclub, 3641 N. Halsted, followed by the movie and a post-screening party at Smart Bar, 3730 N. Clark St., at 9:00 p.m. Tickets and party passes cost between $12.00 and $55.00 and are available for purchase online at www.sponsorkids.com or by calling 312-573-1113 x 22.

Lovers of camp will rejoice in the plot of the self-proclaimed Mistress of Darkness' latest film. Combining the themes of Roger Corman and Vincent Price classic horror films with a dose of the Rocky Horror Picture Show's musical numbers, Elvira's Haunted Hills takes place in 1851. Elvira and her French maid, ZouZou, are en route to perform in the Parisian revue of "Yes I Can Can" but inadvertently end up in the medieval castle of the sinister Lord Vladimere Hellsbus. Bearing an uncanny resemblance to Vladimere's long-dead wife, Elvira learns of the Hellsbus curse and-naturally-finds herself in deep danger. The rest of the story-as any of Elvira's millions of fans should expect-then takes hilarious twists and turns for the voluptuous Elvira and the film's cast of over-the-top characters.
