OCISolutions Announces Wireless Access Breakthrough

Wireless users now have access to the entire web, thanks to a new Internet Everywhere" server created by OCI Solutions management and development teams. Up until now wireless devices such as cell phones and PDAs (personal digital assistants) have only had access to websites that were wireless compatible. This left a majority of sites unavailable to wireless users, many of whom are frustrated by slow service and limited offerings.

After extensive research and testing, according to Joe OSullivan of OCI Solution, ... it was determined that we could in fact provide full wireless Internet access to a cell phone or PDA if our new software was linked to a cellular backbone, and used a gateway translation device." In this patent-pending system of Internet information servers and custom software, OSullivan explains, the Internet information server will process a request for Internet-based language encoded information at an Internet protocol supported location, translate the information, and direct it to the requesting device." The data received will be displayed in text format with images being optional. When a device does not support images, or the image cannot be displayed for any other reason, there will be a bookmark symbol indicating where the image is located. In addition to viewing the entire Internet, several features and applications have been included such as speed dial, WAP (wireless application protocol) e-mail, calendar, instant messaging, and contact management.

OCI Solutions claims that this translation device not only gives users applications and wireless access to the complete web, it also increases their productivity. By offering the ability to access Internet Everywhere applications and features from any web browser, this solution eliminates the need for syncing data or storing information in multiple applications thereby greatly reducing redundancies," says OSullivan. This means that the users wireless device will have fewer memory or storage issues and [this will] inherently increase productivity."
