Hip Hop Makes History with Black Entertainment Magazine and LA Black Expo

September 7, 2002 the Los Angeles Black Expo and Trade Show and Black Entertainment Magazine will host the inaugural induction ceremonies for the Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Edutainment Centers during its West Coast Hip Hop Summit at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Scheduled Inductees include Eric Eazy E" Wright and Latin sensation Mellow Man Ace while Ruthless Records stars Bone Thugs -N- Harmony will appear and perform.

September 7, 2002 the Los Angeles Black Expo and Trade Show and Black Entertainment Magazine will host the inaugural induction ceremonies for the Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Edutainment Centers during its West Coast Hip Hop Summit at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Scheduled Inductees include Eric Eazy E" Wright and Latin sensation Mellow Man Ace. A special Fallen Star" award will be given to rapper Mossberg who was tragically gunned down just as he was making a world wide impact under the wing of super producer DJ Qwik. Bone Thugs --N- Harmony is scheduled to appear as well as perform for this event and former Ruthless Records executive Jerry Heller will speak, Mr. Heller is also a member of the Hall of Fame Advisory Board. This will be only the second time in the history of the Los Angeles Black Expo has allowed Hip Hop related events but with the success of this years events may become a permanent relationship. The Expo events draw approximately 100,000 visitors over the three-day trade show.

Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Edutainment Centers have partnered with the African American Aids Policy and Training Institute to help provide funds for Minority Aids Projects nationwide.
The Institute , under the leadership of Phil Wilson, will oversee the disbursement of funds and assure that donation recipients are legitimate minority aids agencies. Mr. Wilsons institute" is the only African American Think Tank" on the Aids issue and has been featured on the nationally syndicated Jim Leherer News Hour. Fund raising projects include a Rap Aids Album and Concert Series in at least seven major U.S. Cities.

The Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Edutainment Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, was established to create an archive and memorial of the founders, innovators, and stellar talents in the culture of Hip Hop. Further, the Hall of Fames Edutainment Centers will create an open atmosphere for learning the complete music business including production, contracts, touring, promotion etc. The Edutainment Centers will be open to all genres. The Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Edutainment Centers advisory board is made up of Hip Hop Heavyweights such as: the legendary Greg Mack Attack" Mack of 1580 KDAY, Producer Andre Unknown DJ" Manuel, world class record promoter Scotty Spencer, super manager Jerry Heller and Promotional Director of D.P.G. Records, Mr. Arnold White. Advisory Board members will oversee the nomination and induction of talent into the Hall of Fame, oversee the disbursement of funds to various Edutainment Centers around the country and help to pay homage to the pioneering spirit of Hip Hop worldwide.

The Founder of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame and Edutainment Center is Alonzo Williams, creator of the World Class Wreckin Cru and also known as the Godfather of West Coast Rap". Williams, over his twenty-five plus years in the music industry, has helped to structure the futures of some of todays
hottest talents such as Dr. Dre, Battlecat, DJ Rectangle and Ice Cube to mention a few. Currently, he hosts Californias only live call-in television talk show Issues in the Hood" which airs live in multiple cities. Mr. Williams is also in constant demand around the United States as a public speaker and authority on the beginnings of West Coast Hip Hop and has been featured on MTV, VH1, and Los Angeles Times. Williams was an integral figure in the best selling music industry documentary Welcome to Death Row", an expose on the most newsworthy Hip Hop label in the country. His personal goal is to teach not only the ins and outs of performing and song writing, but also encourage entrepreneurship in the youth of today in
regards to the music industry and all it has to offer.
