Recombo introduces first tool for eLearning interoperability. Training materials produced in Microsoft Word can now be deployed to any SCORMcompliant LMS quickly and easily.

Most eLearning software and technology does not work together. Recombo Inc. has launched a new product to make it fast and easy for companies to get their content unlocked from propietary formats and moving across multiple systems and devices. "Convertor for Word" unlocks training content from Microsoft Word and converts it into the industry standard of SCORM so any Learning Management System (LMS) can use it.

Today Recombo launched Convertor for Word. As a result, learning content is no longer restricted by where it is authored. Recombo Convertor for Word is a fast, easy and powerful way to get training materials from Microsoft Word onto any SCORM compliant Learning Management System (LMS). SCORM is the industry standard, which allows eLearning content to be described, stored and delivered by the myriad of systems in use to provide eLearning today.

Recombo Convertor for Word is fast. It takes only seconds to convert a document into a validated SCORM package that can be delivered on any SCORM compliant LMS.

To convert a Word file to SCORM, all you do is select the file, open it, and youre done. The application automatically generates the structure required for SCORM and creates a place for detailed descriptions called metadata.

What makes Recombo Convertor for Word truly powerful is its use of XML and its unique approach to metadata. Convertor leverages XML to enable structural changes to content organization that can greatly improve learning outcomes. The complexity of a comprehensive implementation of SCORMis automatically handled by the software.

Instructional designers and content authors need a product that is fast and easy to use, as well as powerful," says Recombo CEO Steven Forth. Early trials have shown that this product fulfills a real need in the market. People are hungry for tools that will make eLearning more cost effective."

I found it intuitive and very easy to use. I was up to speed in about 15 minutes. I can see many opportunities where Convertor will help us deliver better results faster." says Jim Downton, Motorola Consultant with more than 25 years experience in product development.

This product brings the handling of SCORM into the hands of content specialists and instructional designers rather than programmers. Managers of eLearning projects and systems can greatly reduce their costs of operation.

Convertor for Word is available from Recombo Inc. The company is presently offering a 30-day promotion at 50% off the list price of $295. More details are available at http://www.recombo.com.
