www.OldFlamesReunited.com provokes fiery debate
What started as a dinner party conversation has evolved into a site to reunite friends and lovers all over the world. But the prospect of re-igniting flames from the past became a fierce topic of debate during the evening -- are the potential pitfalls more dangerous than the positives?
A new site launched this week, www.oldflamesreunited.com, promises an interesting variation on a tried and tested theme - namely re-acquainting past loved ones.
The seed for the idea came from an innocent discussion that took place around a candle-lit dinner table. Two couples discussed the potential merits and pitfalls of making contact with 'old flames'. The idea of catching up with former partners to see where their lives had led them seemed a harmless and interesting concept. However, the prospect of re-igniting flames from the past became a fierce topic of debate during the evening.
OldFlamesReuniteds founders discovered that there was nothing similar on the web, so with the debate still raging they decided to produce a simple-to-use site, allowing subscribers to register their own details and search for others in the hope of making contact with past loves.
And all is not lost if a search reveals no matches. With the sites Alerts functionality you can enter multiple names or other details, and should one of these old friends register, youll automatically be sent an email so that you can re-establish contact.
Rik Still, co-founder and designer of the site, is keen to promote the positives:
The site has been launched to allow individuals to catch up with old flames with whom they have lost contact. We certainly do not see this as a dating agency, but rather as an easy-to-use system to bring back together ships that have passed in the night".
If nothing else, the site is likely to promote a great deal more fierce debate.
