Yefim Aleksandrov Press Release 7/26/2002

Songs of the Jewish Shtettl is going to be sang by Yefim Aleksandrow through a USA and Canada tour the year 2002.

For immediate release 07/19/02

First time ever!     Direct from Moscow!

Us/Canada Tour.
Yefim Aleksandrov - Famous Russian Performer-Singer of Traditional Jewish Songs, Artistic Director and Creator of the Unique Musical Production.
"Songs of the Jewish Shtettl (Town)" from August 23, 2002
to September 22, 2002 in 16 cities across the US and Canada.
This show is unique in its genre. It is a huge musical project, totally dedicated to the preservation of Jewish Culture in the mother tongue (Yiddish). Famous Jewish songs once used to
be sung in Jewish Shtettl, by our mothers and grandmothers, are performed in Yiddish. This is a spectacular production with dancers in traditional folk costume. It is for the older to remember and for the younger to learn.
"...Every song is a visual episode of the days gone by of the Jewish Villages, but each still has a strong influence on the minds of the contemporary Jewish Community. Many of them don't know Yiddish, but already the sound of the language their parents and grandparents used to speak, will undoubtedly make any heart pound in unison with the rediscovered and everlasting tunes" The Moscow Courier

This show was warmly received in Russia, Germany and Israel.
