Greenville, July 27, 2002: TetraData Corporation, a U.S.-based software company specializing in school improvement products and services for the education marketplace, announces improvements in its Data Services methodology, as well as an overall Quality Assurance Initiative.

The most significant aspect of this new Initiative will be the emphasis on providing standard data warehousing for all customers before any customization begins. In no way does this signify an end to TetraDatas tradition of strong data warehouse customization. However, the first iteration of a customers data warehouse will be a standard configuration, providing better control and a high-quality initial build from which customization can grow. This way, the customer can get a sense of how a basic data warehouse is structured before they request customizations, and TetraData can confirm that a quality foundation has been laid before customizations begin taking place. The new process will take this standard data warehouse and use it to validate basic student demographics, as well as several high-stakes tests, in the customers data.

Another significant enhancement to TetraDatas current implementation process is the creation of a dedicated project manager for each customization, who will work directly with the customer. Each project manager will guide their assigned projects from start to finish, ensuring a smooth customization. One of the project managers key tools will be an innovative project methodology that emphasizes incremental builds and specific milestones as markers of the customizations progress and overall success. The project manager will work hand-in-hand with the customer, ensuring that the customer will receive not just a strong data warehouse build, but also a complete understanding of data warehouse fundamentals. The obvious benefits of this close mentoring process are rock-solid customizations, more quality feedback for TetraData, and more quality assurance for the customer.

A website will also be developed that will allow each customer to validate their base data with remarkable turnaround time. This new methodology will catch potential issues earlier in the customization process, and the team-oriented approach will result in stronger ties between TetraData and its customers. Furthermore, this common foundation will facilitate training efforts, since the training staff will not need to wait for customizations to finish, and can train from a foundation common to all customers.

This new project methodology improves both communication and accountability for both TetraData and its customers. By laying a firm data foundation, and reducing variables early in the process, TetraDatas new Quality Initiative stands to benefit everyone involved.
