The song is composed and sung by Rik Tinory who became a legend in New York during and into the late 1950s. Rik was the house singer at the famed Grossinger Resort in the Catskill Mountains and performed in the Copacabana Lounge in New York. During his jazz drumming days Rik played at the Ember Club, The Metropole and Birdland in New York City. While apearing in Miami at the Americana Hotel World heavyweight fighter Joe Louis invited Rik to come to Havana Cuba where he was the first American to perform on that tiny Island since the Revolution on December 31, 1959 New Years Eve of 1960, the teenage singer then under contract to United Artists met Ernest Hemingway, Castro and Che.and The Old Man and the sea Fuentes

Rik now owns a legendary and lucrative recording studio in Cohasset , Mass. by the name of Rik Tinory productions, just to name a few famed artists who have used the services of the studio, Rock and Roll legends Aerosmith , Comedian George Burns, Pope John Paul II and many others.

The father of four and the grandfather of six was struck as all Americans were by the tragedy of September 11th . "When i composed the song,said Tinory", i wanted to try lift New York musically and try to relive some of the excitement of the 1950s and 1960s with todays sounds. The memories of New York for me are just incredible having been with so many legends, Marilyn Monroe when she lived in the Chelsea hotel, the after hours at Lindy's and The Stage the famed New York Delli's, Jackie Gleason,Henny Youngman, George Burns and so many others It was so amazing and still is in my memory.
