Fifth Thales Site Selects K3's IBS for Integration Project
Thales AFV Systems has selected K3 Business Technology Group to supply a 30-user IBS system at its manufacturing plant in Belvedere Kent. This is now the fifth site to take IBS as part of the Thales Integration Project, designed to bring synergy between the businesses.
The company (PRWEB) July 26, 2002 -systems for armoured vehicles that are supplied to defence and interior ministries, NATO and UN Forces, National Guards and Special Forces around the world.
Thales AFV Systems products have been used on every UK armoured vehicle since the Centurion. For example, on Challenger 2, the latest MBT of the British Army, 10 different items are supplied and supported. These include driver, commander, gunner and loader periscopes; cupolas and hatches; turret traverse rate and displacement indicator unit; and grenade dischargers.
The implementation will use the standard IBS interfaces to the CODA financial suite (already widely used throughout the Group), and will also exploit the Group Management Reporting system that has been developed around IBS, providing ready made management reports and 'key performance indicators'. The implementation will be based around a Microsoft NT Server, and will be live by September 2002.
