Surface Errors -- a novel
by Kristen Thomson Sheely
A fast-paced, colorful, and darkly funny look at an ordinary woman who's sick of following the rules, so she makes her own (ISBN 0-595-22325-7, iUniverse, publisher; 254 pages, $14.95).
Win Earlie has always been the good girl. At home and at work, everyone could count on her to make them feel better even though her smile was like a mask she wore to convince people to like her. But finally illness, an accident, tons of family friction, and even a murder compel Win to transform herself into someone confident and assertive. She dares to say what even the bravest of us fears to even admit. After all, life is too short to pretend to be someone you aren't. But then Win's life begins to splinter into pieces and she just might lose everything that is important to her. Does her transformation go too far?
Kristen Thomson Sheely has a B.A. in English from York College of Pennsylvania, where she also worked as a writing consultant and learning specialist. She grew up in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and now makes her home outside Washington, D.C. Surface Errors is her first novel.
