South American multi tenant market leader relies on Siemens IP convergence technology HiPath

The Brazilian company Austacem/Cenesp, the largest multi tenant supplier in South America, has awarded the Siemens Information and Communication Networks Group (IC Networks) the contract to migrate its telephony system to an IP-compatible communications network, offering its customers state-of-the-art telecommunication technology and services.

Based on the HiPath 4000 convergence architecture a total of 15,000 workpoints will be installed. 150 IP clients and the planned use of the Unified Messaging System HiPath Xpressions for 8000 users will provide users with most up-to-date communication applications. Security, reliability and excellent local support from Siemens were as instrumental in awarding this order as the protection of existing investments and hence a faster return on investment.

The decision for the HiPath IP-architecture marks the third time since upgrades in the 80s and 90s that Austacem has relied on a migration strategy using Siemens products. The Brazilian multi-tenant company opted for HiPath 4000 in view of its reliability and sophisticated IP-technology particularly for large to very large applications.

The network architecture will include an administration, operations and maintenance center (AOM center). HiPath 4000 Manager and HiPath 4000 Fault Manager will enable rapid online fault analysis and correction, thereby ensuring seamless connection with Austacem customers at all times.

The planned use of HiPath Xpressions as a Unified Messaging System and new telephone features will help simplify the user workflows and thus markedly increase operational productivity.

The realization of the project will be completed before the end of this year.
