Wavecom Selected by Everkom
Issy-les-Moulineaux, France and Seoul, South Korea ¡V 30 July 2002 ¡V Wavecom SA (Nasdaq: WVCM; Nouveau Marchˆm: 7306), the world¡¦s number one provider of complete wireless solutions, today announced the signing of a contract with Everkom Industrial Co., Ltd., one of South Korea's dynamic mobile phone manufacturers.
Under the contract, Wavecom will supply WISMO Quik Q2403B modules for Everkom¡¦s new MGD-100 GSM/GPRS mobile phone and provide all necessary integration support. The contract calls for an initial order of 200,000 units.
The dual-band MGD-100 is scheduled to be launched in China in the third quarter of 2002, and later in Europe and South America, and will be sold under third party brand names. Key features of the MGD-100 include GPRS, WAP, games, 16-chord polyphonic ring tones, Personal Information Manager and infrared data transmission.
