Greater Cincinnati Mother and Entrepreneur Gives Back to the Community
Kim Monaco, mother of two, uses her home based business to provide much-needed toys and funds to community organizations.
Kim Monaco, mother of two, has found a way to combine entrepreneurship, promoting childrens education and being home for her children. Now she is giving back to the Greater Cincinnati community through a unique fundraising effort.
Monaco has been a Discovery Toys Independent Consultant from her home for four years. For over twenty-three years, Discovery Toys has been a distributor of award-winning toys. All toys have an educational component and encourage the physical, mental and emotional development of children. A large number of their products are suitable for children with special needs and all their products are backed by an unconditional guarantee.
Through Discovery Toys and her home-based business, Monaco has been able to offer something to the community in the form of a toyraiser" or fundraiser. An organization receives a percentage of toy sales in free toys or cash. Now thats something under-funded schools and community organizations could use.
Fundraisers are organized in a number of ways and are customized to the needs of the particular organization. Monaco has organized fundraisers with Ohio Valley Oral School, Lloyd High School, Fairland Baptist School and Madonna House, a local home for young mothers.
Having a Discovery Toys Party in my home was a huge blessing for both my child and our Childrens Ministry," Melanie Moore says about her fundraising experience with Monaco, The Childrens Ministry at my church received new toys and books."
Fundraisers are a benefit to the organizations because it is easy," says Monaco, There is no additional work for the organizers and they benefit by earning free toys or much-needed cash."
