Specializing in silicone products such as silicone coatings used for insulating structures, insulator contamination protection and corrosion protection, self-amalgamating silicone insulating tapes, silicone insulating line hoses, and bushing and bus support covers. Midsun also carries a line of U.V. resistive polycarbonate barriers, and will design custom silicone or polycarbonate products to meet your specific needs.

All silicone products offer great protection against U.V. breakdown and will allow for up to 20kV phase to ground insulation. The covers are very flexible and allow for easy field modifications; the line insulation will never chalk up or freeze maintaining it soft and pliable. Our self-amalgamating tape does not gum up in extreme heat and there are no adhesives allowing for a clean working surface when performing maintenance. Midsun stands behind all their products offering guarantees against contact outages for up to 1 year and in some instances more. Midsun also offers the E/Getaway Barrier, which prevents squirrels from entering substations using the overhead lines. The E/Getaway Barrier is U.V. resistive polycarbonate barrier consisting of 11 collars and one large disk, the 11 collars are nestled together but will spin freely when made contact with, the large disk will prevent the squirrels from jumping across the apparatus because they will not see their landing area. The E/Getaway Barrier can also be installed energized using a special order E/Getaway Installation Tool. The tool simply slides over the end of a hot stick and will hold the collars until they are set in place.
