Sandy, UT -- May 2002 -- ATEC introduces its new FreezeHound wireless low temperature sensor that works in conjunction with the patented WaterCop system to help protect a home/business from property damage caused by frozen and burst plumbing lines. The FreezeHound is a temperature sensor and a radio frequency transmitter that attaches directly to a water pipe to monitor its temperature. When the temperature of the pipe being monitored falls into the preset 36º-39º range the FreezeHound will transmit a signal to the WaterCop control valve located on the homes main water line and shut-off the water within the home/business. This action helps to avert a continuous flooding problem if the pipe should burst or crack.
