Centrex Invited to Homeland Security Summit and Counter-Terrorism Drill
TULSA, Okla.--(BW HealthWire)--July 23, 2002--Centrex, Inc. (OTCBB:CNEX - News) today announced that it has been invited to participate in the Homeland Security Summit and Counter-Terrorism Drill to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, September 17-20, 2002.
The Homeland Security Summit program will combine a national summit for education, discussion and training on issues of homeland security with challenging preparedness drills.
Invited to the conference are the Governors and Homeland Security Directors from all fifty states, key administration officials, key members of Congress, and representatives from the Fortune 1000 companies. The conference already has over 300 confirmed attendees. The forum is designed specifically to demonstrate and discuss a variety of means to strengthen America's preparedness, response and recovery skills in the event of another terrorist attack.
One year after the September 11th attacks, the Summit will assess the current level of threat, review government-policy and private sector response, and identify the work remaining and the opportunities emerging to ensure security on the home front. Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge has challenged the private sector to take a leadership role in homeland security. The Homeland Security Summit is one of the ways the private sector has answered that challenge.
The purpose of the Summit is twofold: first, to provide a forum for discussion, education, networking and debate on the homeland security issues confronting the nation, and secondly, to provide an opportunity for the attendees to observe CBRNF (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) Drills in order to better understand the magnitude of the response necessary to counter a terrorist attack.
