Cori Morenberg converted the sunlit room into her jewelry studio this past year when a part-time hobby morphed into passionate career and she founded Cori M. Designs.

In short shrift Ms. Morenberg placed her one-of-a-kind designer gemstone bead jewelry at C. O. Bigelow, in the heart of the Village, one of New York Citys hottest and most historical retail venues. And last month she launched her own storefront on the web (www.corimorenberg.com) so people outside of Manhattan can purchase her rustic-glam" jewelry designs hand-knotted on silk and leather with generous sprinklings of turquoise, coral, pearls, pendants, charms and beads from around the world.

Her goal is simple -- to provide high-quality, handmade jewelry with a human touch and excellent customer service. She says many of her purchases her first month on-line came from women wanting custom pieces or minor alterations. She knows people are tired of mass-produced, soulless merchandise and crave the kind of handmade items she offers, as well as personal relationships with merchants.

There seems to be no stopping this one-woman show! Cori will be hitting the pavement this fall to bring her jewelry designs to a store near you and will be offering jewelry making courses to New Yorkers in their homes.
