New $1000 Business Grant Aimed at Helping Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs

WebMomz.com is the gateway for women online, providing support, networking, and advice for work-at-home and stay-at-home women. Their mission is to provide support and advice to women and mothers on how to nurture yourself, build a stronger family life, and achieve your business goals.

"We know that there are many women out there who wish to start a home based business, but may not have the money to make it happen!" said Kristie Tamsevicius, founder of WebMomz. "We believe that women today can have it all. Having a home-based business enables women the freedom and flexibility to spend more time at home with their children and families. We believe this grant will help women to believe in the power of their dreams and help give them the financial means and inspiration to start their own business."
Women who wish to can apply for the grant starting in August of 2002. This grant will be awarded in a national competition open to all qualified women business owners. To be eligible, the applicant must be female owned, over 18 years of age, starting a new business, have a business plan, and live in the United States.
In addition to being given the business grant, the winner will be invited to participate in a free premier WebMomz membership. As a Premier member, their business will be recognized as part of the exclusive WebMomz community with a member's emblem to display on their business web site. They will also receive a free advertisement in the WebMomz Newz, a free listing in the WebMomz Business Directory, among other benefits.

Applicants will submit personal information, their business plan, and why they feel their business should win the grant. A panel comprised of representatives from different supporting organizations will choose the winner of the business grant.
