Fifteen minutes of fame will be auctioned on Ebay beginning 12:00 AM (EST), Wednesday, August 7, by Rose, Stein & Associates Incorporated, a Pittsburgh-based company with an international publicity practice. The winning bidders will receive their own personal publicist, media training and, most of all, guaranteed media exposure to at least two million people

PITTSBURGH --- One of the nations top PR firms is putting a price on fame. Now anyone in the continental U.S. can bid for the chance to be an overnight celebrity. Fifteen minutes of fame will be auctioned on Ebay beginning 12:00 AM (EST), Wednesday, August 7, by Rose, Stein & Associates Incorporated, a Pittsburgh-based company with an international publicity practice. The winning bidders will receive their own personal publicist, media training and, most of all, guaranteed media exposure to at least two million people.
Everyone has a story and anyone can gain celebrity status with the right representation," says Dena Rose, co-founder and publicity specialist for Rose, Stein & Associates. Pittsburgh is the birthplace of Andy Warhol, the most infamous spokesperson on celebrity, its a perfect place for a star to be born," she adds.
Rose, Stein staged the event as part of an effort to put the spotlight on the emerging role of public relations, specifically publicity, as a powerful and necessary marketing tool for business and industry.
In a multi-media age it is no longer a luxury to have a publicist, it is essential, " says M. Elizabeth Stein, the firms co-founder and brand marketing specialist.

While the ebay auction is open to everyone, Stein says there are some qualifications that need to be met -- winning bidders must be 18 years or older, citizens residing in the U.S. and have no criminal record. Bids will be accepted on ebay through midnight, August 16 at noon.
