TI AUTOMOTIVE CHEMIST RECOGNIZED BY ASTM

Dr. Benedict R. Bonazza, principal chemist at TI Automotive, has received the Sydney D. Andrews Scroll of Achievement" for outstanding achievement in the field of gasoline standards development.

WARREN, Mich. -- Dr. Benedict R. Bonazza, principal chemist at TI Automotive, has received the Sydney D. Andrews Scroll of Achievement" for outstanding achievement in the field of gasoline standards development.

Established in 1923, the award is presented by the Committee on Petroleum Products and Lubricants of ASTM International (formerly known as the American Society for Testing and Materials).

An ASTM member since 1994, Bonazza also belongs to the American Chemical Society, the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Society of Plastic Engineers.

A native of Hibbing, MN, Bonazza joined TI Automotive in 1993, after working at Phillips Petroleum and the General Motors Research (GMR) Laboratories. During his career, he has concentrated on automotive fuel and lubricant research and development; advanced polymer composites business and market development; oil field corrosion research and technical support, and automotive fuel system development.

Bonazza holds a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from St. Thomas University in St. Paul, MN. He earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from St. Louis University and has done post-doctoral work in chemistry at both the University of South Carolina and the University of Massachusetts.

Bonazza and his wife live in Clarkston, Michigan.
