Dark Skies Are Best!! announces the launch of its website www.cafepress.com/darksky to focus attention on its weekly demonstrations at the Einstein Memorial in Washington DC. Dark Skies Are Best!! displays placards to westbound evening commuters urging them to support eliminating night glare in the suburbs.

Each Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Dark Skies Are Best!! supporters gather south of the Einstein Memorial in downtown Washington DC where they display placards to westbound commuters facing the setting sun. Dark Skies lists its educational and training sessions at www.protest.net and draws supporters from area university students, Capitol Hill staffers and other concerned persons.

"Unless the federal plan is to signal aliens with our light pollution, we've got to dim the lights," said Lani Jo, a single mom from Virginia and organizer of the weekly placard brigade. "There's just way too much light at night and it's not healthy for the little birds who fly at night or small animals that need their sleep--not to mention humans who would sleep better if it weren't so bright all night long. Can't we all just turn off the lights and get along? Let's add a National Lights Out program to the current National Night Out. Let's claim our neighborhoods and claim the skies too."

Interested persons who wish to show their support for reduction of light pollution may visit Dark Skies' website, www.cafepress.com/darksky, or simply visit the Einstein memorial and join in on any Friday. The informal assembly typically adjourns for a "light dinner" in neighboring Georgetown, DC.
