DREAM THEATER, BEGIN THEIR LARGEST US CONCERT TOUR.

DREAM THEATERs 2002 U.S. co-headlining summer tour with Joe Satriani, beginning August 8 at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, Arizona, will be their most ambitious US tour in their 14-year career. In Europe and Japan, DREAM THEATER (Elektra Entertainment Group) sells-out festivals of up to 40,000 fans and their 2002 U.S. summer tour will have them playing to the largest audiences ever in their native United States of America.

DREAM THEATER will perform in outdoor 'Shed venues in major cities, such as Michigans 12,500-seat DTE Energy Center, August 30, and Northern Californias 12,500-seat Chronicle Pavilion, August 11. The 29-date North American concert tour concludes with an anticipated sell-out performance in DREAM THEATER's hometown of Long Island, NY, September 14, 2002, at the 14,000-seat Jones Beach Theater. Recognized as being comprised of some of the most technically proficient musicians alive, DREAM THEATER continues to defy the thrash, grunge and punk rock rehash herd, as well as pop rocks continuing - and somewhat never-ending - slide into total banality. DREAM THEATERs lush, dynamic and conceptual songs, averaging 8 to 12-minutes in length - the longest clocking in at 42-minutes - showcase the bands ability to create complex arrangements and perform them with passionate musicianship. Dream Theaters headlining performances average three hours in length with performances in their hometown of Metro New York lasting as long as four hours or more! In spite of a complete lack of FM rock radio support, DREAM THEATERs rabidly loyal fan base continually and exponentially grows almost solely from word-of-mouth and more fan-supported web sites than any other rock band. Like well-known arena-filling bands such as METALLICA, PHISH and RUSH, DREAM THEATER follows their own musical path and, in hot pursuit, fans will drive14-plus hours to witness the musical spectacle of a DREAM THEATER performance. Since 1989, DREAM THEATER has released six studio and two live CDs, as well as a best-selling live performance DVD. DREAM THEATERs 2002 studio CD release is a double-disc set entitled SIX DEGREES OF INNER TURBULANCE, available on Elektra Records. http://www.dreamtheater.net/tour.htm and http://www.elektra.com/elektra/dreamtheater/index.jhtml
