Sealevel Systems, Inc. Announces Design Standardization on Exar Data Communications Products

Sealevel Systems, Inc. announces design standardization based around Exar products, the industry's leading manufacturer of one, two, four, and eight channel UART chip-level solutions. As a result, Sealevel will standardize on the XR16C850 UART for their serial product line effective immediately. The XR16C850 UART provides deep 128-byte FIFOs, 8 times more buffer capacity than products using 16C550 compatible devices.

As a result, Sealevel will standardize on the XR16C850 UART for their serial product line effective immediately. The XR16C850 UART provides deep 128-byte FIFOs, 8 times more buffer capacity than products using 16C550 compatible devices. This allows increased throughput, greater reliability, and reduced system overhead at high speeds. And, since the XR16C850 is backward compatible with 16C550 devices, there are no concerns with software compatibility.
