New Book Review Journal Debuts

Online book review service enters the offline print publication market with the boox review digest, a monthly journal of reviews, interviews and essays.

SANTA YNEZ, CALIFORNIA (PRWEB) August 12, 2002 -- Well on its way toward a third phenomenally successful year, the award-winning boox review (http://www.thebooxreview.com) today announced the launch of the boox review digest, a monthly subscription-based, newsletter style print journal of book reviews, interviews and essays, tailored for release to libraries, individuals and organizations worldwide.

"The new digest targets an audience that may not have access to or interest in anything about the Internet," says Geoff Rotunno, boox review managing director, all while maintaining the online sites mission, straightforward presentation and unique content."

Adds Rotunno, "Continuing in the tradition of our original credo of presenting 'only good reviews of good books, good interviews with some very different people, and a passion for improving literacy with every breath we take, were working hard to showcase only the best of the best. We believe that in the process, we save our readers what is, for our money, the world's most precious commodity: time. For this reason, our reviews are kept purposefully concise and our author interviews go right to the heart."

The loyal boox review readership, the members of which happily participate in many of the sites regular Win-a-book! giveaways, clearly agree. When recently asked how they would describe the boox review to anyone they knew, readers volunteered responses by the hundreds. Some sample replies:

This is the place to get concise reviews of the best new books on the market."

If you don't have the time to read all the latest book reviews, make your life simpler and just visit this one website."

It is a diverse, interesting and unique experience."

It is highly informative and always on target."

The boox review is the fastest way I have found to figure out what you might like to read next!"

I really enjoy the interviews, and the reviews are pithy and quite well written."

A fantastic site, it has everything! Book reviews, interviews with favorite authors and even contests! You have to go there!!"

Real people reviewing good books, no jive, no junk."

Check it out, it rocks!"

Bloody brilliant."

What does it take to land a review in the boox review digest or in the featured review or roundup sections of the online site? Our utmost criterion," says Rotunno, has nothing to do with sales or industry buzz or a splashy promotional tour. If a book -- any book - displays that inherent, intangible essence that makes it satisfying to the core, we're on it in a second, singing its praises to the world. A review placed in the boox review will therefore signify extraordinary value for our readers - increasing its value to publishers and authors as well.

"We have no intentions or illusions of being another New York Review of Books or Publishers Weekly," acknowledges Rotunno, "but we are quite convinced that there is a continuing need for someone to sift through the immense number of newly-published books and publish literate, succinct reviews of those rare and sometimes lost-in-the-shuffle finds that merit absolute, widespread attention. The boox review is that someone."
