Videotek is expanding its line of trend setting multi-format on screen monitors with the new VTM-150. This product is designed to appeal to a broad array of communications and entertainment markets including broadcast, production, post, educational, government, cable and satellite applications.
Videotek, the industry leader in innovative test and measurement technology, is expanding its line of trend setting multi-format on screen monitors with the new VTM-150. This product is designed to appeal to a broad array of communications and entertainment markets including broadcast, production, post, educational, government, cable and satellite applications.
We created the VTM-150 to deliver the lowest cost method in which to measure Analog, CAV and Serial Digital video and analog audio with user alarms," says Greg Huttie, Videoteks Director of Product Development. The VTM-150 follows in the footsteps of the market leading VTM-100 and VTM-100D, but offers more functionality for a single unit device. The instrument is used to constantly monitor and assure video and audio quality for high confidence in production or on-air environments."
The one rack unit VTM-150 offers a VGA monitor output for the simultaneous viewing of all the information needed for sophisticated monitoring and measuring of waveform, vector, audio and other information superimposed over black or picture. This includes inputs for NTSC and PAL composite, RGB, Beta 75 & 100, MII 75 & 100, EBU 75 & 100, SMPTE and Y-C component, plus 525/625 SDI.
The VTM-150 features two looping composite inputs with auto detection NTSC/PAL with one configurable as Y/C, RGB and Y,R-Y,B-Y; plus two SDI inputs with 525/625 auto detection. The display output is 800x600 compatible for use with any computer monitor delivering a 4:3 aspect ratio. Optional alternative outputs include composite, CAV and Serial digital outputs for viewing on other types of display monitors. Four analog audio inputs with monitoring outputs are standard.
The generous Alarms menu includes Gamut (RGB) and EDH for SDI, Peak video, Loss of Signal (sync or carrier), SC/H and video, and Peak audio. Up to eight user-defined presets are possible with the VTM-150.
We wanted to offer a powerful product that is very simple to use by incorporating full front panel controls with familiar names and features," says Phil Steyaert, President of Videotek. Anyone using traditional scopes or VTM Series products will fully understand how to operate and read this instrument. The VTM-150 is an ideal product for any system in transition from analog to digital, which represents a lot of systems these days. Such systems need a means to view waveform, vector and picture of all system signals. The traditional solution in the past is to use up to four dedicated scopes and two monitors. VTM-150 is one compact, cost-effective package that does it all. The market will be very happy with this product."
The VTM-150 offers options including the RCU-150 remote control panel and the TMO-150, Comprehensive Output Package, with SDI, Composite and CAV.
