LATITUDE POISED TO DRIVE CONFERENCING INFRASTRUCTURE MARKET
Wainhouse Research Report Shows European Market Demand For Integrated Voice and Web Conferencing Solutions Will Overtake Global Growth Rate
London, August 14, 2002 - Wainhouse Research, an analyst firm that researches rich media conferencing, estimates in a new report that the voice and web conferencing market will nearly triple from 2001 to 2006.
In "Multimedia Networking Infrastructure Products: Bridges, Conferencing Servers, Gateways and Gatekeepers," the first in a three-part series of rich media conferencing reports, Wainhouse authenticates the on-premises business model of Latitude Communications (Nasdaq: LATD), which provides MeetingPlace, the leading secure, integrated voice and web conferencing solution. The study also predicts that the market for conferencing infrastructure equipment will grow to over $1.4 billion in 2006. As enterprises seek better control, infrastructure integration and security, the market will shift toward internal hosting, the report concludes.
Marc Beattie, Senior Analyst and Partner, Wainhouse Research, added, "Enterprise demand for robust servers for voice, web and video conferencing is growing dramatically. Our research shows that conferencing providers that offer diverse deployment options and that have a solid IP strategy are poised for long-term leadership. In particular, those vendors that provide in-house solutions possess a clear advantage in security, tight integration and cost-effectiveness."
Steve Bland, Managing Director International, Latitude, said, "Wainhouse Research has confirmed the value of an internal hosted solution. By answering the real-world needs of enterprises we are in a strong position to drive this exciting sector of European communications." Although Bland expects a 20 percent growth rate for voice conferencing in Europe, Latitude's expectations for the web conferencing market are much higher, with an expected increase of 60 percent per year.
