Brand consultancy Virtual Content signs exclusive licensing/financing deal with ultra-hip Danish global design brand Biomega

VIRTUAL CONTENT JOINS BIOMEGA TO DEVELOP GLOBAL BRAND

LONDON -- Virtual Content signed today an exclusive licensing contract with Copenhagen based Biomega Philosophy (Jemaski Holdings), owner of the Biomega brand, most famous for its paradigm changing bicycles by such design luminaries as Marc Newson and Ross Lovegrove.

The purpose of the agreement is to use the intellectual properties being developed by Biomega Founder Jens Martin Skibsted as the foundation for a range of products across a number of commercial sectors.

With its unique, internationally famous bicycles Biomega has proved its competence in successfully bringing to market products that challenge existing engineering and design rules, says VC CEO Mark Tierney. Our role will be to drive the brands growth into a number of different product areas, the common thread being the perspective of Jens Skibsted. Its a very exciting opportunity to grow an auteur driven global design brand."

In a country thats often come close to cornering the market in beautiful product design, Biomega has become synonymous with elegance and simplicity. Perhaps thats why Wallpaper* Magazine chose Jens Martin Skibsteds 'CPH as the most promising means of urban transport, together with the BMW C1, and why they voted the same model as the 2nd-best line of products in Danish design, after Georg Jensen.

Biomega bicycles are high-performance technological wonders, and their design is the ultimate expression of form following function. They have featured in hundreds of leading design and fashion magazines around the world, in blockbuster Hollywood films ('Kate & Leopold and 'Vanilla Sky) and are currently retailed in upmarket bike and design stores in 26 countries.

Initially the agreement calls for a financing round within the next year to fund immediate growth in select markets.

Virtual Content & Biomega Philosophy will open a new joint office in Copenhagen later this month.
