Churchill, Mantitoba has deployed a completely wireless network for vioce, data and internet with Global Wireless Satellite Networks Inc.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Global Wireless Satellite Networks Inc. of Delta BC, in a joint effort with Broadstorm Telecommunications Inc. of Sealtle, Wa., Arrow Broadband Ltd. of Vancouver, BC and Vancouver Teleport Ltd. of Langley, BC is please to announce the successful deployment of a totally wireless broadband solution in Churchill, Manitoba.

This project completed with the local Cooperative ISP, Churchill Community Network Ltd., shall become the model community for deployment of wireless technologies for the globe.

Churchill is a community of 950 people located on the West coast of Hudson Bay at the 58th parallel.

The project completed without any government subsidies, is a prime example of Satellite delivery of services complemented with next generation 4G" broadband wireless access capable of delivering high speed internet as well as, voice, teleconferencing and data.

CCNET offers the internet service to the residential members for $75.00 per month.

Broadstorm has provided us with last mile technology that allows us to fulfill our mission of delivering broadband wireless services across Canada cost-effectively," said John Schnurr, spokesperson for Global Wireless. We are able to deliver high speed services, such as Internet access, streaming media, and voice over IP, at a per user cost that allows us to build a viable business case. The Broad@ir system can serve thousands, and on top of that, our users, which include banks, hotels, as well as individual residential users, were able to easily install the customer units themselves, eliminating the cost of dispatching technicians. If we can be successful delivering broadband wireless in Churchill, we can be successful anywhere."

The Churchill deployment represents a totally wireless solution in that Global Wireless satellite technology is complemented by Broadstorms wireless last mile solution. The Churchill project was made possible through the cooperation of Global Wireless and Broadstorm, and ISP partners Arrow Broadband Ltd. Of Langley B.C., Vancouver Teleport Ltd. of Langley, B.C. and Arrow Broadband Ltd. Of Langley B.C.

The success of this system bodes well for Canadas national broadband initiative. According to John Schnurr, Global Wireless, Not only will rural, farming and remote communities have economical broadband access, but also underserved communities in suburban and urban areas across Canada."
