Roller Derby is On TV
Vacaville and Fairfield California, August 19, 2002 - THE BAY CITY BOMBERS ROLLER SPORTS MAGAZINE TV SHOW will debut Monday night prime time at 8:30 PM on Channel 8, and repeated at 8:00 PM on channel 11 through out the Vacaville, Dixon, Fairfield and Travis Air Force Base area AT&T Broadband cable network.
The half-hour TV show includes skating highlights from the Bay City Bombers who compete against the Los Angeles Turbos. Entirely shot at the Travis Credit Union's outdoor stadium in Vacaville and produced locally by Leo Vrana's Video Unlimited.
The sports magazine show will feature interviews with men and women from Roller Hockey, National Speed Skating, Aggressive and inline stunt skaters, and banked track, roller derby athletes.
The TV show's young Bay City Bombers team brings world-class athletes performing inline and "quad" 4-wheeler skating on cable television. "It's a reinvention of the original Roller Derby, but this time they are faster, more athletic and many are on inline skates", and says team General Manager Keith Coppage, "It's all real."
Youthful athletes fly around the elevated banked track like short track Olympians who breathe new life into a favorite Bay Area attraction. The newly organized world champion Bay City Bombers arrive on Vacaville's cable TV this Monday at 8:30 PM on channel 8. This weekly TV show is a pilot for banked track roller sports in the Vacaville area.
The Internet will monitor the shows viewer ship.
