Sisters Offer Wedding Planning Tips for the Rest of Us.

While many couples today would like the help and advice of a wedding coordinator, few feel they can afford the added expense. Sisters Diana and Sandra Wittenbrock started their company, Diana Lynn Events, with moderate budgets in mind. They not only offer a variety of traditional coordinating services, but also teach a workshop to help couples plan their own wedding, if they prefer.

"I know many coordinators target only very high-end clients," says Diana, "but I think that the average couple wants to have the same advantages and advice. Other coordinators charge their fee as a percentage of the total budget. It feels too much like they are being pushed towards only the most expensive vendors in order to boost the coordinator's cut." Diana goes on to explain that, while this may not be a fair assumption of most coordinators' motives, she thinks it is easier for the couples to simply pay a flat fee for services.

Coming in this winter Diana Lynn Events will be rolling out another way for couples to get wedding planning advice on a small budget. They will be holding the first of an ongoing series of workshops on planning your own wedding. "Plan Your Own Wedding Like a Pro" will teach participants many of the basics of planning a wedding and include some hands on demonstrations and a binder of information. The first workshop will be held at the Regency Center in San Francisco on October 24th.
