John Lee Hooker Family Birthday Charity Concert August 24th At The Fillmore -- San Francisco

(San Francisco): The John Lee Hooker Family invites you to join them in celebrating what would have been their fathers 85th birthday. The John Lee Hooker Family Birthday Concert, presented by the John Lee Hooker Foundation, will be the first official event at which the John Lee Hooker family will honor their father since his passing on June 21, 2001.

The concert with feature Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Peter Green, Canned Heat, Zakiya Hooker, Alvin Youngblood-Hart, Chris James & Natural Four, Pete Brown, Greggs Eggs, Vince Converse, with Surprise Guest Appearances!

This is the first public event presented by the Hooker family to honor John Lee. This benefit concert will fund music and art education programs for underprivileged, underrepresented and at-risk youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.

John Lee Hooker's new crypt (located in the new Celebrity Wing at The Chapel Of The Chimes in Oakland California) will be open for viewing from Thursday August 22nd (John Lees birth date) through Sunday August 25th
