NEW CAMPAIGN FOR SOUTHERN COMFORT CREATED BY ARNOLD WORLDWIDE
READY FOR LAUNCH IN U.S., EUROPE and AUSTRALIA
Agency Integrates Advertising, Media Planning, Event Marketing & Interactive for Global Markets
August 21, 2002, St. Louis, Missouri ... A dynamic, new integrated advertising campaign for Southern Comfort, the famed spirit created by a New Orleans bartender in 1874, is set for launch across the U.S., Europe and Australia.
Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis, as global advertising agency-of-record for the brand, has created a campaign that integrates print, TV, radio, outdoor and a new tag line: Southern Comfort, between friends."
The new Southern Comfort campaign is especially significant because Arnold Worldwide is integrating all of the creative components globally. This represents a substantial account for the St. Louis office," says Dave Kuhl, management supervisor at Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis.
Famed director Errol Morris, whose work includes the groundbreaking documentary The Thin Blue Line, plus the opening film sequences for this year's Academy Awards in Hollywood, directed the new Southern Comfort TV with Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis creative director Mark Ray.
Arnold Worldwide Integrated Solutions will manage event marketing, bar promotions, interactive design and e-marketing in the U.S.. Online and offline US media planning and buying are being handled by arnoldMPG.
Radio and cable TV spots created by Arnold Worldwide for the brand will be ready for U.S. markets in late August, with TV for Europe and Australia to follow. Outdoor in U.S. markets will debut in September. Interactive and event marketing also begin later this year. The campaign later will enter more nations.
Southern Comfort is owned by Brown-Forman Corp. of Louisville, Kentucky. The brand won a gold medal for quality and taste at the 1904 Worlds Fair in St. Louis for M.W. Heron, a transplanted New Orleans bartender who created the smooth spirit and used it to create his award-winning St. Louis Cocktail."
Arnold Worldwide-St. Louis also creates global advertising for Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, a Brown-Forman brand that is the worlds best-selling American whiskey.
