Quakertown, Pa. -- justCommunity, Inc. announces the appointment of Gina Furia Rubel, Esq., President of Furia Rubel Communications, Inc. to the Board of Directors.
justCommunity, Inc. (www.justcommunity.com) is a non-profit organization based in Quakertown, PA, which provides consultation, education and training services in the areas of youth development, community mobilization and restorative practices to schools and other agencies working with youth. justCommunity is the coordinating agency for the Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth (HCHY) Initiative of the Quakertown Area and the Pennridge Area HCHY. justCommunity also sponsors the "Unleashing the Power of Youth and Community Potential" conference each fall. The conference attracts hundreds of people to hear cutting edge speakers and leading thinkers in the positive youth development field from the throughout the United States. In 1999, justCommunity helped launch the Pennsylvania Assets Network, a group of individuals and organizations focused on strength-based approaches towards building healthier communities. justCommunity, Inc. is a licensed training provider on the topic of the restorative justice practice known as community accountability circles.
The newest member of the justCommunity, Inc. Board of Directors, Rubel is the founder and president of Furia Rubel Communications, Inc. (www.FuriaRubelPR.com). Her firm offers corporate communications services to area law firms, not-for-profit organizations, agencies and healthcare companies, among others. After practicing law for several years in Philadelphia, Rubel focused on her passion for proactive, integrated communications. She specializes in business and professional development via the planning and execution of public relations tactics.
Rubel actively pursues volunteer opportunities in the community. She has worked as a committee chairwoman for the Philadelphia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Harvest for the Homeless and Lawyer-in-the-Classroom programs. Rubel has also executed fund-raising programs for the American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association, American Diabetes Association, Dogs for the Deaf and Ivy Ridge Lodge Order Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund. She recently completed two three-year terms on a Supreme Court of Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board Hearing Committee.
Gina has a bachelor's degree in Corporate Communications and International Business from Drexel University. She earned a J.D. from the Widener University School of Law and maintains a Pennsylvania law license. She resides in Bucks County with her husband Scott and their daughter Gianna.
