Cheetah Advanced Technologies today announced a partnership with Construction Imaging Systems, Inc. (CIS), a leader of document imaging workflow and report archival for the construction industry. This affiliation allows Cheetah to offer document imaging for StreetSmarts Advantage.

(CIS), a leader of document imaging workflow and report archival for the construction industry. This affiliation allows Cheetah to offer document imaging for StreetSmarts Advantage.

Document imaging software allows StreetSmarts users to scan, save, and attach" invoices and supporting documents to project data as it is entered into StreetSmarts Advantage. This minimizes the amount of paper in the office and expedites the routing and approval processes. For example, an Accounts Payable clerk may scan invoices as they are received and electronically route them for approval. A project manager may approve the invoice, assign cost codes, and return the invoice to the Accounts Payable clerk. The process is seamless and integrated -- from scanning invoice batches and routing, to archiving and cataloging approved invoices.

Most importantly, indexes are created in the Construction Imaging System software at the time of AP data entry. These complex indexes include invoice number, vendor number, invoice date and amount, and job number, which might include sub-job number, company, division, PO number, and so forth. This unprecedented level of indexing allows you to find detailed information from scanned documents through whatever search criteria you desire -- unlike systems that merely attach image files to Accounts Payable invoice files.

CIS Invoice Routing and Approval module makes it possible for users to enter data once to minimize time and maximize accuracy. Information entered into StreetSmarts Advantage is linked to the CIS software, and indexes are automatically created for associated, scanned documents. In addition to the Invoice Routing and Approval module, Construction Imaging Systems offers a half-dozen modules, including the Cost-Plus/T&M Collector, Job Document Router, and OCR/Full-Text Search. These additional modules further simplify and streamline the flow of paper in the accounting offices of todays construction companies.

Our OCR and Full-Text Search module allows you to scan documents using the OCR process, which turns document images into text documents," said Larry McAdams, President of Construction Imaging Systems. By doing so, you create an index of all words within a document that may be used, for example, to search for every document for a bid that contains the word 'required, 'penalty, or 'conduit."
