Main.net Communications Ltd. enables first commercial PLC project in Krakow, Poland

Main.net Communications Ltd., the global market leader in power line communications (PLC) broadband access network solutions, announced today its first commercial PLC deployment in Poland.
Pattern Communications S.A., an independent telecom operator in Poland, performed successful PLC trials with seven power utilities in Poland, using Main.nets PLUS technology. After successful completion of the trials Pattern has started commercial deployment of PLC-based services together with its first testing partner, Zaklad Energetyczny Krakow SA.
The PLC service is called Internet through the power socket" and offers high speed Internet to the electricity consumers. The commercial deployment started in selected areas of Krowodrza and Nowa Huta districts in the city of Krakow. The first phase of the commercial rollout consists of connecting 1,000 to 2,000 end users until the end of the year.

Mr. Marcin Bodnar, CEO of Pattern Communications stated: Commencing commercial operations became possible thanks to our very successful technical tests with Main.nets PLUS on seven different grid infrastructures. The results were so positive, that we wasted no time in proceeding to a full-scale commercial rollout. Currently we have begun commercial activities in cooperation with Zakład Energetyczny Kraków, and we expect to sign more commercial contracts with our other testing partners, where they provide access to the electricity grid and we are the service operator."

Mr. Moshe Efrati, CEO of Main.net Communications Ltd. said: With Pattern, we have an example of the innovative business model where a telecom operator goes into partnership with a power utility to utilize PLC technology to bridge the last mile". We expect more partnerships like this to be formed in Europe in the near future. Our PLUS has proven itself to be an easy to install and administer system solution, which makes it the perfect choice for telecom operators and integrators that want to enter the PLC market.
We at Main.net are pleased to have the city of Krakow as our first commercial rollout in Poland. Poland is the fourth country where we as Main.net went commercial."
